Arrival of the Lord
In the middle of the night, in the sacred month of Bhadra, Krishna pakha (fortnight), asthami tithi (eighth lunar day), Rohini nakhatra (star) amidst drizzling of flowers in front of Devaki Ownself Vishnu, Bhagavan Sri Krishna in his four armed form appears – in all the four sides there is a great revelation and amidst that the four armed carrying sankha, charka, gada, padma (conch, disc, club and lotus) is seen. A new mass of clouds, having a deep blue complexion wearing pitambar (yellow garment), and eyes like water lily filled with prema, Vasudeva-Devaki ownself attains the darshan of the Lord. They become very much pleased and start glorifying the Lord.
Bhagavan Narayana says to Vasudeva – you quickly take and leave me at Nanda Bhavan to Nandarani Yasoda and bring Yogamaya here and make her lye down besides mother Devaki. Vasudeva in a basket raises Bhagavan upon his head, immediately all his fastening opens and he gets freed. As soon as he comes out of the prison with Prabhu, Ananta Bhagavan Sheshnaag spreads His hood taking the form of an umbrella and saves Prabhu from the ongoing rain. Jamunaji witnesses Prabhu and increases itself, touches His feet and again returns to her natural form. The rishi-munis triumph Jamunaji and Lord Krishna.
When Vasudevji enters the residence of Nanda Maharaj all the inhabitants of Gokula were in deep sleep. He lies down the Lord besides mother Yasoda and collecting Yogamaya returns back to Mathura. As he enters, the doors of the prison get locked and once again his handcuff and shackle gets fastened. The relation with Brahman gets covered, uniting with maya one had to become conditioned again. To relate with Brahman is not hard but to cause to stay forever is very difficult.
Such a Bhagavan will not be found anywhere Who by his Ownself reaches the house of a sleeping person. This Bhagavan is shagun Bhagavan (having qualities or attributes), merciful Bhagavan. Neither japa, nor meditation, neither any austere practice to such an asleep person Bhagavan is Himself going, here as there is no welcome He begins to cry. By hearing the sound of His cries queen Yasoda immediately rouses from sleep. This topic will be discussed later, now let us visit Mathura with Vasudevji.
At Mathura as soon as Vasudevji enter the prison he once again gets fastened, Maya starts crying and the soldiers of Kamsa gets awaken, goes and gives the news to Kamsa. Kamsa was waiting for this moment, without wearing his shoes and crown, in bare foot and bare head with a sword in his hand arrives near Devaki. Immediately he raises Mayadevi and throws her upon a stone, but Mayadevi without falling upon the stone flies away in the sky. Later on by the name of Bindubasini and further in different names she is being worshipped in this world.
At this incident Kamsa feels ashamed and later on starts narrating Vedanta to Vasudeva-Devaki. He says, who kills whom, the soul is immortal, never dies, I have inflicted lots of injustice upon you, so you please forgive me. As long as Kamsa was with Devaki and Vasudeva his intelligence was fair due to the influence of good association, but as soon as he enters his palace and gets the evil association of his crooked ministers, his intelligence changes again. When Devi Mahamaya announces that your killer has taken birth and growing somewhere else the ministers of Kamsa – Sal, Toshal, Chanur, Mustik and Kut these five ministers says, Maharaj you order us, we will immediately make arrangement to kill all the children who were born on that day. Kamsa consents with the proposal of his ministers and gives the order of killing. When the time of destruction arrives, a person follows the path of untruth, injustice and oppression.
On the other side, in Nandalaya, by hearing the sound of child crying, Jasomatiji awakens and her maid servants also arrive there. Everybody visualizing the child, their happiness new no bounds, one word is coming out from everyone’s lips – “Ananda bhayo, Nandake ananda bhayo” and as this sound enters the ears of Nanda Maharaj he understands  that he had attained a child, his delight do not have any whereabouts.
As a person’s mood becomes firm towards the Lord as son-father, husband, the Lord appears to him accordingly. In Bhagavad Gita He says “Je jatha mam prapadante tamstathaiva bhajamyaham”.
            Sri Sukdevji says :-
nandas tu atmaja utpanne jatahlado maha-manah  (10/5/1)
In the mind of Vasudeva-Devaki the mood that Lord is my child was a bit less as the Lord appeared in front of them in the four armed form. There is a little hesitation to accept a child in four armed form adorned with different divine ornaments, but in the house of Nanda-Yasodha the Lord appeared fully in the form of a child. So their mental state to have the Lord as their child was natural and faith was firm.
The vaishnava community has the compliance that they believe that in Gokula Lord Krishna has taken birth as a son of Yasoda and in Mathura in the prison of Kamsa Lord Narayana has taken birth as the son of Devaki. Now in the house of Nanda, as Vasudeva lies down Narayana, Yasoda’s son Krishna and Devaki’s son Narayana takes one form, one body in the bed besides Yasomati.
In the mind of Nandababa and Yasodaji, they had absolute belief that Krishna is their son.
In the Tamil Bhagavat it is described that Devaki’s son was with Devaki for 12 years incognito. He didn’t go to Gokula, Devaki has nourished and brought Him up, as Devaki can never live without this son of hers and if He goes away she would have immediately died. to be continued
